Kickin' it with Strep Throat!

Well this week went by really fast because I spent half the week sick in bed with Strep Throat! I came down with it Monday morning--chills, body aches, fever, sore throat, swollen glands, general all-over ickyness . . .you get the "lovely" picture . . . well after 2 days sick in bed, by Wednesday morning I was getting worse (not better) I thought to myself, "You are not winning this battle. Time to see the Dr." So I did. Found out I had Strep Throat. Got a Shot in the bum. And by that evening I was feeling better. Thursday Even Better. And Today Quite Well indeed.
I am so thankful for loving family who helped me so much while I was sick! Tuesday I was so sick! And school happend to get canceled due to cold weather. My first thought was, "Oh good Samantha will be home to help me with the little girls." She is so good to get them food, or put on a movie, or read to them, or play with them . . . I was very glad that I would have her . . . but then the phone rang (7:45 a.m.) and it was my Dad calling to see if we knew school was cancelled. When I answered and sounded so bad, my Dad said, " Is this the White's?" He didn't even recognize me. Well when Mom and Dad heard that I was sick--they insisted on coming over to get the girls!! Dad came and helped me get them ready and then he and Mom took care of them ALL day--breakfast, lunch, and Mom sent dinner home with them for all of us! Thanks Mom and Dad for all the TLC!! Then on Wednesday (on my way back from the Dr.) I phoned Diann to tell her that I was sick with Strep, but that I would still come teach TaVaCi (probably not the wisest idea to expose all the kids to Strep, but I didn't know what else to do?) well Diann would not let me teach. She was so kind and told me she would take care of my classes and that they would just work on the words of songs and review what they already knew. She also arranged for another TaVaCi Mom to pick up Sam and Kenzie and bring them home again, so I wouldn't have to leave my house. That was great because I was able to sleep that afternoon. I am so grateful for wonderful parents and a wonderful mother-in-law. It was terrible to be so sick, but it would have been SO much worse without family there to help me.

Mod Podge Extravaganza!!!

White Family Chore Chart!
Magnet board with our pictures and various pictures of Chores at our house!
Metal flower as a corner embellishment!
Chore Chart in all its glory!
We hung it in between our kitchen and our dinning room table!

Around New Year's we sat down with the girls and talked about setting goals. Some of the goals were individual and some were family oriented. The girls "set" a goal for me of coming up with a "chore chart" for them. I honestly don't know where they got this idea from, but they were really excited about it and wanted us to have one. So I made one. I take almost full creative credit for this project . . . a long time ago I saw (somewhere?) an example of a chore chart that someone had made using a pocket-chart, they put pictures of the chores in the chart next to the person's name . . . that was way cute. I made my own version of this. I took a metal sheet and mod podged paper to it, then I glued the metal sheet into a wooden frame-which I also mod podged paper onto, then I hot glued strips of ribbon across it- to section off each person, then I got these 3x3 wooden tiles(?) and mod podged pictures of each person and pictures of various chores at our house, and then hot glued magnets on the back of those. Honestly the finished product is sooooo cute! The pictures don't do it justice! (Can you tell I am just a LITTLE proud of myself?) I am going to add a few more chores to the chart, but here it is so far! There is also an "extra" space at the bottom for when we have another baby (no this is not an announcement, just wishful thinking at this point). This project took A LONG TIME and it was kind-of difficult, but I loved doing it, I had a blast shopping for the materials and putting it together! AWWW Creativity. Love it.

Dr. Coach White

Scott is in the green shirt!
I think we scored one more time after this was taken, and we won!!
Scott talking to the ref.'s
Here are some pictures of Scott coaching at a JV Madison Home Game. The JV have not really had the best season, basically they haven't won a game all season, but last night they did it! They played Pocatello and it was a great game to watch. We were so excited! This is a great boost to their self confidence, we hope that they will do better from now on! Scott still loves coaching. We are doing our best to support him and go to his Home games. I went to their Bonneville game last week, I rode the bus with Scott and the team. It was interesting to be along for the ride. I actually got to watch the game instead of managing my "3 ringed circus, " it was a fun evening to spend with Scott (and the team).
